The 1911 is a semi-automatic pistol chambered in .45 ACP, designed by John Moses Browning for the American company Colt in 1911. Building on its success, the M1911 and M1911A1 were used by the US Military for almost 70 years, notably during WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam.
