L'AKM est un fusil d'assaut développé par Mikhail Kalashnikov, chambré en 7,62x39mm. Introduit en 1959 comme une version améliorée de l'AK-47, l'AKM se caractérise par une construction simplifiée et allégée, utilisant davantage de composants estampés. Il est réputé pour sa robustesse, sa fiabilité et sa facilité d'entretien. Doté d'un frein de bouche incliné, il réduit le recul et améliore le contrôle du tir.
