The MP5 or Maschinenpistole 5 is a German machine pistol chambered in 9mm and manufactured by Heckler & Koch in the 1960s. Similar to the G3 in terms of functionality, the MP5 was popularized by the British SAS and made numerous appearances in popular culture. Today, it is without doubt one of the most popular SMGs of all time. Building on its success, the weapon is available in numerous variants, including the MP5A1, MP5A2, MP5A3, MP5A4 and MP5A5. Versions with integrated silencers have also seen the light of day, with the MP5SD1, MP5SD2, MP5SD3, MP5SD4, MP5SD5 and MP5SD6. Not to mention ultra-compact versions like the MP5K and MP5K PDW.
